"True" is not in the source data for Dept ID, so why does the pivot table say that it is. Tried refreshing. Please Advise, Thank you, Luke

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
You man need to go to 'File\Download' to see the details as Google Sheets doesn't always show everything. When I create a new pivot table with the same data, 'True' disappears. Unfortunately this happens in the middle of updating a number of preexisting tables via VBA which specifically looks for Department IDs in row 1. The fact that 'True' is there throws a wrench in the mix.

no idea !

rename "Dept ID" to "Dept ID2"
refresh the pivottable ("Dept ID" is gone now)
rename to the old "Dept ID"
refresh the pivottable
drag "Dept ID" to the original place
done

not able to practicably check for pivot tables that are glitching...I may have to build new pivot tables for each iteration of the macro instead of updating existing...Thanks for the input, Luke

that's another approach to solve the problem ...
When do you get this problem ? Always, from time to time, ...

The problem with the latter approach is the size of the file will grow to no end. This is the first time I have seen it. It is odd because "True" was never in any old data. Dept ID is a hardcoded, never-manipulated field.

How do you refresh your pivottable, manual or with VBA ?
Can you delay refreshing your pivottable until everything is ready ?
A delay of for example 1 second.

If you download the attachment from the OP, you'll notice that the persistence of "True" is independent of refreshing.
