I have a pivot table with rows defined as SalesRep and columns as Product. Is there a way I can include the row and column "group defitions" ... "SalesRep" and "Product" ... at an appropriate position beside or in the Pivot Table?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi Jonart

Do you mean you have created a table with SalesReps in for example going down the Rows in Column 'A' & a Column named 'Product' with the SalesReps & Products figures in the table?

I need some more info about what you have now & what you want to do, Cheers

................._______PRODUCTS_______
REPS..........Shoes.......Socks......Shorts
Jane.............20............13..........32
Joe...............12............8...........16
Bill................18............15...........9

I'd like to display the category titles "Reps" and "Products".
Excel does not seem to provide for these titles in a Pivot Table, or am I missing something?

In a chart these would be called axis titles.

OK, you're going to need to display the data in several columns before you make a Pivot table out of it.

One Column for SalesReps with the Column Name SalesReps, One for Shoes, One for Socks etc etc ...

You can only have one name for your Products fields, but you can rename your Columns to something like 'Products / Shoes', Products / Socks if that's useful to you.

I'm using Office 2007 but it is similar in other versions.

Select the Cell that contains the name 'Shoes' for example, right click & select Field Settings & you can rename that field.

Hope this helps you, Cheers
