Pivot Table showing same Data as filter

Hi,

I just have a quick question regarding pivot tables and filtering. I have a sheet with all my sales data by month which I want to show in a certain way using a pivot table and is working well.
The problem I have is some customers, which is column A, come up in the filter more than once with exactly the same name e.g

Company (Filter Active by Name)
ABC123
ABC123

I thought it would be the format hence it shows Customer ABC123 twice with different entries, so I tried formatting cells in case there was any unseen spaces that I missed and still coming up with the same filter values. I also tried doing a find and replace so the customer name is exactly the same throughout the sheet.
Any ideas on how to quickly amend this and get it working would be great, i am just pulling my hair out!

Thank you
Lisa

Hi

Thank you for the info, I tried that and still no luck, any other tricks or ideas?

Thanks

Can you doublecheck that your records don't have
ABC123
in one place, and
'ABC123
in another?

When you look at the sourcedata, you would see no difference because Excel hides the apostrophe, but the pivottable does handle it as different entries... I have had such a case and it drove me nuts before I finally found it :eeek:

You need to check each and every cell with ABC123 in it, to check if there is an apostrophe or not...

Hi,

Thank for the idea, I have looked through every cell with ABC123 and there is no difference in any of the data. I did find once a while ago where the was a space after the cell value and it made a difference, hence the reason i checked the cell to make sure all the entries are the same. Your right about it drives a person nuts, my head is about to explode! :eeek:

Any other ideas will be welcomed!

Thanks
Lisa

Could you post the file somewhere (minus any sensitive data)? I would like to have a look myself, 2 pairs of eyes see more than one :)

Thank you all for your help. I fixed it by deleted all the ABC123 entries retyping ABC123 and then copying and pasting the value into multiple cells, seems to have done the trick!
