Pivot table toolbar

It's been a while since I've asked this question, and I can't seem to get an answer anywhere.

Early on, when I was first using EXCEL 2010, I closed the pivot table toolbar (figuring I would be able to get it back, easily %^%$#&), the one that floats there when the cursor is in the pivot table- that has the dropdown menu. I have been all over the web, posted the question, read books in the bookstore etc. looking for an answer, but to no avail.

My ony solution, it seems, is to uninstall Office 2010 and reinstall it. But there has to be a way........

Frustrated.

Thanks, if you have the answer.

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
I am sorry but I don't quite understand the problem.
With Excel 2010, when you select a cell in the Pivot Table two features appear. One is the Pivot Tools tab (just above the Ribbon) and the other is the Field List that appears at the right side of the worksheet.
The latter can be closed using the 'cross' at the top-right and re-opened by right mouse-clicking inside the pivot table and selecting 'Show Field List' or by clicking the button on the Ribbon.
I am not aware of a 'toolbar' as would have been used in Excel 2003 and earlier.
Could you describe this toolbar in more detail please?

Thanks for the reply

I am using Excel 2010. When you click in the pivot table then a Menue pops up that can be moved around. It is small and on the left there is a dropdown menu that shows thinks you can do - like "create a calculated field". When I've gone online looking at PivotTable stuff I've seen it in the videos. One web site said that you could close the Pivot Table Tool Bar and that it didn't have to be opn because all the function are on the ribbon. But Create Calculated Field in not on the ribbon. Not takint about the tab on the top or the Field List on the right. This is(was anyway) sitting on teh upper middle of teh spreadsheet and you copuld grab it and move it out of the way. I closed it and Poooof! It was gone. The is a youtube video "It's easy to create calculated fields in a pivot table", where you can see it.

Thanks again for the reply

I was not able to find a video on YouTube that seemed to be the one that you were referring to.
If I select a cell inside the pivot table, the PivoTable Tools tab appears. If I then click that tab and select 'Options', in the 'Calculations' group I see 'Fields, Items & Sets'. In that drop-down there is the 'Calculated Field' menu.
If that is not what you are looking for, perhaps you could provide link to the YouTube video that you mentioned - it would also be useful if you could say how many minutes/seconds into the video I would find the floating menu that you are looking for

The video is incorrect - the "Calculations" is a section in the Analyze Tab - once you click the fields, items, & sets drop down menu > insert calculated field > use name drop down to select the field you want to edit - hope this makes sense
