Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Im using excel 97, i never heard of a cube in excel . Maybe it is a user defined add-in. Pivot table is used to summarize data and covert it into a report.

A user defined add-in is a customized add-in made by a programmer.

Actually, You can´t compare cube with P/T.

P/T is a tool for viewing aggregated data in different ways and can be connected to sheets, databases and cubes.

It´s Excel's equivalent tool to what is known in general as datashaping.

Cubes ar used to store data in from larger databases which speed things up.

So per se it´s a storage-component and is used in conjuction with Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) Services.

Kind regards,
Dennis
