Hi

I have a table that looks like this:

Name Date Purchases

Dan 1/1/10 Bananas
James 5/3/10 Apples
Paul 4/7/11 Oranges
Dean 23/9/11 Pears

The spreadsheet in reality is a lot bigger than this and I have entries for each person for every month for 2010 and 2011.

What I want to do is produce a pivot table so that I can compare the results year on year so that it looks something like this:

Name Oranges

Jan 2010 Jan 2011

Dan 1 4

So that you can compare each month with the same month the previous year. I would also like to total each year seperately.

Help

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
