pivot tables

I have a spreadsheet with a pivot table already created and every day i paste in a report and refresh all data, but on one colums the name of my products changes and could be longer or shorter eg.
one day

Product Num
Apple 1
Banana 10
Pear 20

but the day after i have just
Product Num
apple 4

and the following day just
Product Num
banana 2
pear 1

my pivot table when i refresh i thought would have put in in the last case
banana and pear
but keeps apple
is this a limitation of the pivot tables?
is this a standard?
or it can be changed and refreshing just pulling me in what i have on my report?
