Pivottable - A method of getting around having more than one source of data.

Hi gents

Here is my problem if anyone is willing to have a crack at resolving.

- The table below is my main data input that i will complete each day.

- I have set up a pivot table (well a couple in differnt sheets) collating this informatiion in different ways.

- The access column refers to a particular work location and the stoen column refers to a quantity of stone that was removed from that location.

- I know the total qty of stone that is in each location and therefore with each entry the total remainign stone is reduced.

Q. I would like to have it so that in my pivot table i would say summarise the accesses but what iu can not do is say have a "stone left to remove column" in th epivot table.

I have the total quanitie sina different table but with a pivot table you can only select one source. And i cant really put this information into my initial input as it does not fit the column headings.

Any thoughts?

The easiest way I'd guess is to add another column to your table and link it to your source for remaining stone quantities. Then just updated your pivot range to include the extra column?

My problem is that the extra column in the table wouldnt fit the rest of the table. In that the acceses are dotted about the table and so where would you put the quantity?

This is the table so as each access has its own figure I couldnt really put this into the other table as the access number is different for each row of the table.

I am starting to think that In my data input bit I am going to have to put a column showing the progress etc and then put it into the pivot table and somehow hide cells i do not want to see.
