I was given the task after someone retired without any information to go on.

What I am trying to do is create a table, but as you can see there are dates doubled up in years past. My question is how do I populate the date table for fiscal year 2011 - 2012. Has anyone seen this or know how. Any help is appreciated.

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Do you need to 'double up' these particular dates?

Why do there also appear to be some dates missing?

In fact the closer I look the more gaps I'm seeing and they don't seem to follow any pattern or be consistent across the years.

Exactly. Thats what is confusing me.
It seems to be around March and April and the other months seem to flow normal. But as you can see April doesnt go in numerical sequence and there is a date from May mixed in.

Tables don't store data in any meaningful order. So, you would use a query with a sort on the appropriate field/fields to display it in the order you want.

What is the data going to be used for?

Is the table going to be used as some sort of 'lookup'?

eg given a date you can return the fiscal year, period, index_no
