I draw a date field to my pivot table. However 3 fields are added automatically in the pivot: year, month and Quarter.

How can I amend so only the date field is added it with same format as field in underlying table: YYYY-MM-DD

Excel Facts

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
To get just the date field you need to Ungroup the Date.
  • Select any of the dates in a table
  • Right click and select ungroup
  • OR go to the menu PivotTable Analyze > Ungroup
Once you have ungrouped you can format the date field.
  • Right click on the any of the dates
  • Field Settings > Number format > Choose your format or create a custom one
