Hi everybody

So here is my question. I am working on synoptic weather patterns and i have to do PCA to reduce my large number of MET variables into more reasonable number of dimensions. So... i am totally new to PCA... so i just want to know is excel appropriate tool for this purpose or any better solution???

I am not a coding guy.... so please keep this in mind :)

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Hi Muhammad,

It might be possible to do your PCA in Excel if the number of dimensions is not too high, but I would recommend Mathworks MatLab, which is much better suited to this type of problem. You can even find MatLab PCA code examples online.

Good luck.
