is it possible to print a series of hidden sheets
I currently run a marco which unhides 15 sheets prints them then hides them again
there must be a better way to do it.

How about opening the workbook in a hidden second excel instance as readonly . Make there the hidden sheets visible , do your printing and finally quit the hidden excel instance... This is hacky but it ensures the sheets remain invisible to users.
