Here at the office we are using microsoft office excel 2003. My pc is a laptop running windows 7. I was trying to copy 2 columns out of a sheet on a spreadsheet into a new spreadsheet. I clicked at the top of the column and excel highlighted the entire column. I then pressed CTRL+C to copy the data. I then opened up a new spreadsheet and pasted in the copied column by pressing CTRL+V. When excel pasted in the data there was a problem. EVERY row in the newly pasted column contained the string "#REF1" instead of the actual column data.

Any ideas ? Please help a desparate excel rookie.

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Instead of CTRL + V, right click > Paste Special > tick Values > click OK.
