problem in un hiding rows

i hide first 5 rows of my sheet and know not able to find a way how i can un hide them.

Select row 6 and drag upwards. Then choose Format|Row|Unhide from the menu.

select the 6th row, and drag up, you will notice a little popup saying 6R (in Excel 2007 at least, not sure for other versions). Then rightclick and choose unhide.

sounds like you are dragging down, not up...
you need to drag up towards the hidden rows, the popup needs to say 6R if you have hidden row 1 to 5.

In the ribbon, you can find unhide under Home/Cells/Format/Visibility/Hide&Unhide

Ok, try another method.
Click on the box where the column headers and the row headers intersect...so, just left of olumn "A" and just above row "1"
This should turn you worksheet a different colour !!
Now right click on any Row Header and select Unhide !!

Or use [Ctrl A] to select all and then from the tool bar select Format then Row and then Unhide

Do the following (for Excel 2007):

In the Home tab and Cells group, chose Format/Hide and Unhide/Unhide Rows

If it doesn't work, try the following:

In the Name Box (on the left side of the Formula bar), type A1:A5 and press Enter

Then, in the Home tab and Cells group, chose Format/Row Height

In the Row Height dialog box, type 15 and click OK.
