Hi

We've just upgraded to Office 2003 from Office 2000 and have just come across summing problem which is creating a problem.

We have a set of negative and positive figures in a colun which should always total zero. They relate to staff borrowed and staff lent and are entered manually without any calculation. We have just added 0.15 to one figure and subtracted it from another and the total is giving us a number in scientific format which is not zero. The spreadshhet has been in use for several years now and this is the first time this has happened. I assume that it may relate to the upgrade.

We are using SP2.
Can anybody help please.

Stewart

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
It may not be due to the upgrade but due to the settings, have they been set for the UK or wherever?

I assume you have tried changing the format of the cell?
