Please can someone assist. I have this macro which needs to perform 2 tasks. Hide certain columns, and then filter a column. The button needs to work both ways -Click to activate hide and filter, and click again to unfiltered and unhide.

I have gotten the hide, unhide part working, but I can't figure out how to include removing the filter.

Sub Custom()'
' Custom Macro

With Sheets("Labour Master")
With .Range("h:xx").EntireColumn
.Hidden = Not .Hidden
ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter Field:=5, Criteria1:= _
"<>"
End With
End With
End Sub

Thanks

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
This code toggles between filtermode
VBA Code:
Sub ww()
         ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter

End Sub

Thanks.

Will this be a separate macro button, or added into the macro.

I can't get this to work, I probably did not describe the issue very well.

The table is from Columns c to xx. When I click the button I will hide certain columns, (say f:k, and m:xx) and then filter one specific column, (call it "L").
I then want to remove the filter and unhide all the columns, when I click the button again.

Thanks

Try this
VBA Code:
Sub Custom()
    With Sheets("Labour Master")
        If .FilterMode = False Then
            With .Range("h:xx").EntireColumn
            .Hidden = True
            ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter Field:=5, Criteria1:= _
            "<>"
            End With
        Else
            With .Range("h:xx").EntireColumn
            .Hidden = False
            ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter
            End With
        End If
    End With

End Sub

Try this
VBA Code:
Sub Custom()
    With Sheets("Labour Master")
        If .FilterMode = False Then
            With .Range("h:xx").EntireColumn
            .Hidden = True
            ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter Field:=5, Criteria1:= _
            "<>"
            End With
        Else
            With .Range("h:xx").EntireColumn
            .Hidden = False
            ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter
            End With
        End If
    End With

End Sub
Thanks for this. It works when the column I am working with the first column in the range (the "Custom" macro)
In the example below (The BT Macro) I am filtering out all columns except "I", and want to do the filter in Column I. It's not working here.

Again, thanks for assisting.

Sub BT()
With Sheets("Labour Master")
If .FilterMode = False Then
With .Range("g:h", "j:eek:").EntireColumn
.Hidden = True
ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter Field:=5, Criteria1:= _
"<>"
End With
Else
With .Range("g:h", "j:eek:").EntireColumn
.Hidden = False
ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table1").Range.AutoFilter
End With
End If
End With

End Sub

Thanks for correcting my syntax. The columns are hiding and unhiding, but the filter is not working.

what's not working in filter? Is it not filtering or not unfiltering? Is the active sheet & labor master sheet the same?
