Dear All

I have been facing a problem which I yet to solve. Whenever I put 7-8 in a cell it shows me 8-Jul, after formatting that in dd-mmm-yy it maximum shows 8-Jul-11. But I want that when I shall enter the data as 7-8 it should come up as 7-Aug.

Please tell me the process.
Sandy

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I think you have change short date format in Control panel.

goto to contorl Panel > Date, Time, language, and regional option > Change the format of number, date and time > Customize > Date > Short Date Format

check it from your "regional and language sitting"
in windows XP from Control panel Double Click "regional and language sitting"
then Customize --> Date
check short date format MM/dd/yyyy if not change it to be MM/dd/yyyy
and try again
