Hi guys - I'm doing an exercise and I need to find the correct formula for the solution to this question:

Add 3 columns with the Product, Category, SubCategory using 1 formula that you can copy over the 3 columns. Use the ProductKey and the data in the WB Product for this.
Does anyone know what formula I can use for this?
Thank you in advance

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
What has your course tutor advised you to use?
There will be many ways of doing it but most likely there will be a specific one expected of you based on the guidance given.

He didn't advise me anything. I have to find it myself.
I think I can use the formula SUMIF?

If your results will be numbers then you could use SUMIF, for text you would need to use INDEX and MATCH or one of the lookup functions.

The best method to use will be dependent on your sheet layout. There is a tool called XL2BB which is designed specifically for posting sample sheets to the forum, simply click the XL2BB button on the reply box toolbar, then follow the instructions on the page that it opens.
