I am trying to calculate the amount of time it takes to stuff an item. (item per minute). Is there a productivity formula I can use or something that will help me out.

I have 7.5 hours - 8 people - 345 items stuffed. Need the amount of time it is taking to stuff each item. Need to be able to formulate it to create a chart.

I have been taking item stuffed by the hours, but there is the problem with the amount of people, and the conversion from hours to minutes. PLEASE HELP!! NEED FOR WORK TOMORROW!! :)

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Maybe, where
A2 = number of staff
B2 = Hrs / Day
C2 = Items to be stuffed
Excel Workbook
ABCD
1No of StaffHrs / dayItemsstuff rate
287.534510:26:05
Sheet1
Excel 2003
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
D2=TEXT(((B2*60)*A2)/C2,"hh:mm:ss")

You answer has it at 10 hours, so I am not following.... We are aiming for stuffing items at 2 mins per item, which we are not hitting, but something in your formula is incorrect. Can you try again??

Hi Michael

Interesting calculation. How did you compute 86400?

Seconds in a day !
I had it in a snippet from a previous post ( can't remember the poster), but it works for me.
The end result in the formula is actually 0.0072463 as a number but by formatting the cell to mm:ss it comes up with 10:26, which I believe is the correct answer.

I think the first posting gave the better solution, the only problem is the OP thought the answer was 10 hours when it was 10 minutes

Hi Konew
I thought so too, but it was a bit misleading.

Hi I dont know if my assumption is correct but Im just trying to help..

I think the answer is 1.304347826 minutes per item..because the 10 minutes answer is what your paying for..but if we are considering the time per item is stuff, then we should assessed base on working as a group..they stuff one item in just 1.304347826 minutes..so they meet the standard of 2 minutes per item..again this is my own opinion..
