Hello,

Bit of an interesting one here:

Some of our computers (excel 2003) are protecting cells if the cells are locked and the worksheet is unprotected. Am I correct to say these cells should only be protected if the worksheet is also protected?

Yes, I think you are correct to say that.

What you describe - cells locked, worksheet unprotected - is actually the default setting for a new Excel workbook.

The locking of the cells should only be noticeable when the worksheet is protected.
