If I have cells in a work sheet that contain formulas, what is the easiest way to protect them so that a user does not override the formula? The user will have to enter data in other cells.

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Select the cells that can be changed, press CTRL + 1, on the Protection tab uncheck Locked. Then protect the worksheet.

Does this work over multiple areas of the worksheet? I have a number of individually located cells I wish to be able to edit and more that I wish to protect.
Thanks for any assistance

Yes, it will work on multiple areas.

To select multiple areas select the first area then hold down CTRL and select the others.

Thankyou. I should also have mentioned that some of the cells I am leaving as usable are to access hyperlinks. When I select these cells, hold down the CTRL button and select the other cells I wish to be accessible, each time I click on one of the non-hyperlink editable cells it goes to the last hyperlink worksheet.
