Protecting selected cells

I have created several charts for work and there is going to be many people using them. There is only one of them that they will be filling out.

What I'm trying to do is to somehow lock all other cells from them to be able to access them so they can't mess up any formulas. When I try to go through protection selection at the menu bar, it locks the entire page. I only have about 30 cells I want them to have access to. How do I lock the rest from them to have any access to them other than me? I did ttry the password protection also but that also locks all the charts. I did try to highlight the areas I want to lock but no use. What am I doing wrong?

As far as I know it is not possible to lock only certain cells within a worksheet. You might want to consider protecting the entire worksheet and creating a userform with VBA script. One of our experts here could probably give you some alternative ideas.

Hi,

I think that you will need to Protect your worksheet.
Click the top left of your sheet between 1 & A. (press Ctrl+a) to select all cell)
Right click, Format Cells, Protection, Check Locked, Check Hidden, click Ok.
Now highlight the cells you want the users to have access to.
Right click, Format Cells, Protection, Unheck Locked.
Now protect your worksheet with a password.

Hope it will work
