I want to be able to click on a cell in a column and have a pull down list of choices. I need to use the same list on several sheets in the same workbook, so the "Pick from a List" option doesn't save me any time as I would need to have the list of choices in that column on each sheet.
Any suggestions?

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

Define a name (insert menu, name) that defines the list. You can then use the range name in the data validation funciton even though the source data is not on the same sheet.
