A friend has a database that includes a row of 7000 customer names. When the auto filter for that row is selected, it show all of the names but one. I have done all of the obvious things to solve this but with no luck.

When I sort the data alphabetically, The name will show up in autofilter. When I sort it back to the previous listing, the name disappears from the auto filter list. I have been using excel and visual basics, etc. for years and this is the first time I have been stumped. I usually bulldog until I solve problem, but this one has me scratching my head.

Any ideas?

Thanks from a first time poster.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Hi jtheat
Welcome to the board

When you say "The name will show up in autofilter" you mean it shows in the dropdown arrow of the autofilter?

Just a thought...

How many different names have you got in the column? I believe the maximum number of items in the dropdown arrow of the autofilter is about 1000.

Hope this helps
