I have never used this function because it seems to me that everything this function can do can be taken cared of vlookup and hlookup.

Anybody knows an application of this function that can not be done by vlookup and hlookup?

Thanks

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
You'll no doubt get a few examples to this post...

Here's one: you can lookup a range on one sheet, and return a corresponding result from a range on another sheet

VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP with the match-type set to 1 (i.e., TRUE) is equivalent to LOOKUP. The match-type = 1 means that the match range is sorted in ascending order.
