Hi

I'm trying to in put zip codes that start with a 0, but whenever I do the 0 disappears. Is there anyway to change the format so the 0 is included?
thanks,
Rachel

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
green triangle in corner

Thanks, both work. When I went back and added the zeros a small green triangle appeared in the corner. Is there a way to get rid of that?

i would recommend using the format as Zip Code.. the green triangle is telling you a number stored as text..

you can click on the green triangle and tell it to ignore error..

however if you ever want to perform a lookup function then it will not work with numbers stored as text
