Question regarding Column Labels and Pivot table

I have a worksheet that I have converted to a table. My question is, once that I have made it a table, the column headers are in row 2. When I go to create a Pivot table, the "Pivot Table Field List" shows up with the column Numbers, and not the column headers field list. Any suggestions for correcting this problem, would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
before you start making your pivot table, highlight your data (with column headers) so it won't try to pick it by itself.
