Hi

I have 3309 rows of data and I want the computer to pick a random 600 rows.
How can I do this?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
try:

1. insert a new column immediately to the left (or right of your data)
2. in the first cell, insert the formula =RAND()
3. Sort the data based on this column (it doesn't matter if the values change)
4. Take the top 600 rows

Try this

=INDEX(A1:A3309,RANDBETWEEN(1,3309))
you may have duplicates

you can use

=INDEX(A1:A3309,mrand(1,3309)) from Morefunc
