Excel Facts

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
what is meant "random sample". suppose you want to fill A1 to A10 random numbers between 1 to 100 in A1 type the formula

=RANDBETWEEN(1,100)
and copy A1 down.

But this data will be volatile and will be changing as you work on excel

so select A1 to A10 click edit-copy
and select A1 and click edit-pastespecial values.

If you are thinking of something else post back with examples.
