Really Dumb VBA Question

Sometimes, when you type "." after an object, VBA doesn't list the object's properties and methods. Why is this?

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
It would help if you could give a more specific example.

However, I often run into this if I use Cells(x,y) instead of Range. If I want the tooltip help, I temporarily change it to a range, then change it to Cells afterward.
