Hi guys

In my database, I have a cell in which an order code is inputted. Some codes begin with "Q" and some codes begin with "E". Depending on which kind of code is entered, I want excel to put a message in the adjacent cell using the IF command which I know how to use.

Just wondered if it was possible to get excel to recognise letters in a cell - ie noticing the "Q" in "Q12345".
