Hi, just wondered if anyone could help me.

I have a formula in excel by where if a cell is a particular negative number then a sum of values is produced. The numbers I am working with though range from negative 3 (-3) through to plus 3 (+3). The formula isn't recognizing what is negative what is positive? Can anyone help me out with that? I am using the following formula:

=IF(AND(W4="AVERAGE",U4=-2.7),SUM(F4,'Predicted Height Chart'!C11))

Hi there.

I'm not clear what you want exactly.

The formula you posted should work, if the value in U4 = -2.7.
You can simplify it slightly to
=if(and(w4="average",u4=-2.0),F4+'Predicted Height Chart'!C11)

However, in your narrative you say you want to test for a value of -3.
Clearly this is not going to work if your formula contains -2.7 instead of -3.

You might want to also be more explicit about what to do if the IF statement returns a FALSE value, in other words if the AND criteria are not met.
