Hey board,

I have a question on pivot tables.
I'm trying to re-use my last years pivot table. It contained 12 months of data, coming from a seperate excel sheet. Now I've copied the complete folder, renamed it, and deleted the 2008 data and replaced it with 2months of 2009. If I than change my data source and refresh the table, the size remains the same as with the complete 2008 data. However, If I rebuild the pivot, the size drops from 8mega to 1mega. Can anyone explain me what I can do to avoid this? the pivot only contain column references, and I checked my blank rows, and there is no hidden data left.

Regards,
shodan

In the pivot table options try unchecking the Save Data with Table Layout option and then saving the file.

If you leave it unchecked I think you will need to refresh your pivot table each time you open the file but you should just be able to re-apply it with your new data in place.
