Hi
Fairly new to Excel and need some help.

I have several rows of figures and want to be able to reduce a range of cells by a fixed amount i.e. $800 or by a percentage. Also to increase by a fixed amount or percentage.
Thanks

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
If you wish to add say 5% which is .05 in decimal you would add 1 making it 1.05
Put that figure in a spare cell and copy, then select all the cells you wish to increase by 5%, then go to ~ paste special, click values, click multiply

To reduce by a percentage put a minus in front of the decimal and add 1, so to reduce by 5%
would be -0.05+1 =.95, copy that, and do as previous with paste special

To reduce by 12% would be -0.12+1 =.88 etc...

If you wish to reduce by a fixed amount ~ type the amount into a spare cell, copy, then select the cells you wish to reduce by, then paste special, click values, click subtract.

Cheers.
