Hi,

I am trying to find a quick way of amending formula from month to month on a spreadsheet. Currently there I have many formula that some where have in them a specific month listed. Now rather then individually changing this every month is there a way to reference one cell that I could just change the month in and it affected all my formulas?

Regards
Mark

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.

Hi,

Wihout see your actual formulea, this is difficult....

You could ammend formula by having them look at a specific cell and concatenating this cell into your formula....

Post an example of what you are trying to do and I am sure you will get more response:)

Cheers,
Ian

=SUM('R:\WIP\Weekly Input\Weekly Input 2010 - 2011\March 2011\[Andy C - WIP - March 11.xls]Information'!B19

This is one such formula. The March in Red is the bit I would like to substitute for a cell reference that I could change month to month as this would keep the formula up to date with out having to edit them individually.

Hi - the problem with this is it is referencing another file.

If you have MOREFUNC, you could use INDIRECT.EXT.

Have you considerderd Update Links instead?
