References/Links to multiple sheets in the same book.

Does anyone know an excel function that will let me know how many links/references I have in one cell? For example, if I am using one sheet to sum information from 10 cells in 10 different sheets, can I set up a formula in another cell that tells me how many links I have in that one cell that is summing all of the information? Any help would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
