My time data is in seconds. I want minutes to be the Y axis on my chart. I know I can add a new column in my data that does =A1/60 but I was hoping there's some sort of formatting trick that'll do the samething.

Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

If the data is held as a time value (i.e. 45 seconds is 00:00:45 not just 45), then yes - just format the chart axis as [mm] or whatever. If it's held as simple number, then you'll have to do the calculation on the sheet

For simple calculations like that you can you Copy / Paste Special / Divide so that you don't mess with the graph references.
