Could anyone help me with my memory? I keep a master file of about 200 associates and their birthdays, but need help reminding me when a birthday is coming up. Is their a contitional formating formula that would cause the birthdate cell to change color when it's closing in on that day? Any help would be appreciated.

If you have Excel, perhaps you have Outlook.

Outlook does that sort of stuff naturally.

Welcome to the board

enter the formula into your conditional format. Cell A1 is birthday date. Format must be default date format. Choose a different cell background color for each condition.

Conditon 1
=IF(A1=TODAY(),TRUE,FALSE)
Birthday is that day

Condition 2
=IF(A1=TODAY()-1,TRUE,FALSE)
Birthday is tomorrow

Condition 3
=IF(A1=TODAY()-2,TRUE,FALSE)
Birthday is two days way.

I just realized that formula would just return true is the year in the birthday is the same as current year.

Give this formula a try. it will work better

Condition 1
=IF(AND(DAY(A1)=DAY(TODAY()),(MONTH(A1)=MONTH(TODAY()))),TRUE,FALSE)

Condition 2
=IF(AND(DAY(A1)=DAY(TODAY()-1),(MONTH(A1)=MONTH(TODAY()-1))),TRUE,FALSE)
