Hello excel heros,

I am in desperate need your advise. Suppose I have some 50+ people that I need to contact (indivually) and I have their names and details in excel sheet. However, they might or might not respond in time. So I need to create a reminder message so that after the time I give a particular person, if s/he hasn't responded, then I get a message to send him a reminder.

How come no one is responding? Hello people, your help will be highly appreciated. I know there is some way of creating this reminder using VBE in excel, but I can't figure out the codes. I am rather new to this kind of technical stuff.

Use conditional formatting to set their names to red if they haven't responded, green if they have. That's easier to implement as it doesn't require any VBA, easier as a user as you don't have to click away any message boxes and it's a permanent reminder in your worksheet rather than a message box which is only on your screen for a moment.

Do you mean sending reminders with Outlook? Or just following up in Excel, like Ruddles suggests?

The reason you got no reply yet is the high number of active threads, some slip through the cracks and take a while before they get noticed. A polite bump like you did (not too soon of course, bumping after an hour is considered rude) is the perfect way to try again.

Thanks Ruddles for the tips. Conditional formating is good, but one gets reminders when s/he opens the excel sheet. I was thinking of receiving a mesage box on my screen or in outlook (as Hermanito says..??). That way even when I am working on something different, I can still get a reminder.

I still havent found a solution and I was wondering if any one have an idea of how I can generate this reminder message.

Basically, I have an excel sheet with different tasks that have to be accomplished on certain dates. I need to creat a reminder (MsgBox) that pops up to remind me that i have to accomplish this task. Preferably, the Msgbox should pop up both when the excel sheet is open or closed.
