removable storage error

i am struggling with a strange error. Am using excel 2010 and connecting to access db file (accdb).

i connect to 2 DB's one stored on removable storage (USB drive) and other one stored on local machine. After the db file on USB is used, i plan to remove the drive, but the minute i remove the drive system throws error while connecting to local machine DB file.

also once the USB drive is removed excel takes a lot of time to calcualte the sheet.
