dear all

i am using access 2010.
if i open my report it give me the dialog " enter parameterValue". i need the report to open normaly without asking me any condition.

i ma still new in access, i dont know how i add it :), i succeeded to remove from my Query but form the report i coudln't.

appreciate any help.

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
There must be something in the report that is expecting a parameter.

What where you using the parameter for originally and are there any fields or expressions where it's involved.

If you weren't using a parameter then it probably means some of the controls on the report have a field in their control source that isn't actually in whatever you
replaced the query with.

In addition to the above list add one more: check for parameters in query design view (edit parameters). These can be present even if they aren't used anymore in the WHERE clause.

What exactly did the message say?

Did it include the name of the parameter?

What have you actually looked at and done based on what's been suggested?

the message is "RentalFleet.GeneratorCapacity"
GeneratorCapacity and RentalFleet are two table with a One to Many relation.

Which one of those is a field? RentalFleet or GeneratorCapacity?

What did you replace the original query you were using for the report with?

In design view does a field called RentalFleet.Generator.Capacity appear in the control source dropdonw on the Data tab of the property sheet?

a parameter can be in the report properties (such as a filter condition), or the query the report pulls on ... and any queries that that pulls on. It could also be a field in the report that is bound to a field that doesn't exist (even a hidden field). Keep looking!

Generator Capacity is a field in the RentalFleet ( it is A lookup field that lookup data from the GeneratorCapacity table).

What did you replace the original query you were using for the report with?

SELECT [GeneratorCapacity].[ID], [GeneratorCapacity].[Size] FROM GeneratorCapacity ORDER BY [ID];

Try the data source for the report in a query by itself (outside of the report). If you get the message, the problem lies in the query/data source. If you don't get the message, the problem is somewhere in the report itself.
