Hello All,

I have an issue with a report I run almost daily. The problem I have is I have a list of Customers and the website we run the numbers from always adds 3 numbers to the end of the Customers, for example. John 101, Tim 201, Steve 301. As you Can see the customers vary in length. Is there a simple way for me to remove the last 3 numbers?

Thanks

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple

Hi,

If you can use a "Helper" column, then you can apply the following formula and then copy and paste special values over the original data or just leave the results in column B if you can.

Sample data.....

Excel Workbook
ABC
1DataResult
2John 101John
3Tim 201Tim
4Steve 301Steve
5Bill 401Bill
6Ed 501Ed
7
Sheet1

The formula in B2 needs to be copied down.

I hope that helps.

If there were no spaces in the names you could also Select the column list, then from the menu "Data":

select "Text to columns"
check "Delimited"
click "Next"
check only "Space"
click "Next"
select the second column
check "Do not import"
click "Finish"
