Any suggestions for a formula which can identify when a word repeats?

ColumnA ColumnB
dog
dog
cat
bird
snake
snake
snake

I would like the formula in column b to flag the second *dog* and the second and third *snake*. I have 9,000 words in my list, and am trying to get a distinct list (and ignore the repeats).

THX for help!

If you want a distinct list why not use Data>Advanced Filter...?
