Hi,

Excel novice here so bare with me please.

I have a worksheet that contains a column of dates, the dates reflect stages in a process. Every 8th date the process starts again and these dates go down the the page vertically. I need to copy the first 8 dates and transpose them into another worksheet. I obviously know how to to that using the copy paste method but the column contains around 1000 rows and 8 rows at a time need to be copied and transposed. Is there a way of doing this automatically using a marco?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
In Excel, you can use the record method to create the macro for you and then use that as a framework to code it for dynamic data.

In 2007/2010, under Developer, you can Record Macro. That should be a good start to automate the process you want to complete.

Hope that helps or at least gets you started in the right direction.

* If you don't have a Developer Menu Option, go Under Excel Options to make it available.
