I want an UDF that gives me the date of file's last update.
I tried use it:

Code:
Public Function LastUpdate() As Date
Application.Volatile
    strPath = Application.ThisWorkbook.FullName
    LastUpdate = Format(FileDateTime(strPath), "dd/mm/yyyy h:mm:ss")
End Function

But, everytime the Excel is opened, the date that is set is the current date, even the file has not been saved.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Hi

You can use:

Code:
Public Function LastUpdate() As Double
    LastUpdate = ThisWorkbook.BuiltinDocumentProperties(12)
End Function

and format the cell with that formula the way you want.
