I have a formula that works fine:

=LET(u,UNIQUE(FILTER(Country,Sector=$A$1)),SORTBY(u,COUNTIFS(Sector,$A$1,Country,u),-1))

It returns a list of countries ranked highest to lowest by number of records in the database. However I only want to return the top result (i.e. 1 country, not the full list). I thought of trying to incorporate the Large function but not having much luck.

Any advice?

Thanks

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
How about
Excel Formula:
=LET(u,UNIQUE(FILTER(Country,Sector=$A$1)),take(SORTBY(u,COUNTIFS(Sector,$A$1,Country,u),-1),1))

Brilliant, thanks Fluff. I'll have to study the Take function - seems very useful!
