Hi I have a set of grid coordinates (i,j) that are in a table next to the corresponding latitude/longitude values for a particular grid position. As I am new, I cannot post an attachment; however, the same data I am looking at can be found here:
http://www.meteo.gc.ca/grib/30kmgridpoints_e.html
What I would like to do is input any latitude/longitude (for the area on the map) and have excel return the corresponding i,j grid coordinate. It is important to note that the latitude/longitude values used as input may not be exactly the same as the lat/long values in that table; therefore, I need excel to determine the lat/long values that represent the boundaries of the grid point my lat/long of interest is located in. The ideal output would not always be an integer. This means that if my point was in the very center of grid point (1,1) excel would output (1.5,1.5).
Is it possible for me to create a spreadsheet that does this?
I apologize if my question is confusing and will clarify if anyone requires.
Thanks for any help you can provide
