Returning 2-digit year from a cell with m/dd/yyyy

I am trying to return only the 2-digit year from a date in a cell.
example:
cell G2 = 3/19/2011
i want to reference G2 and return only "11"

With
G2: containing a date....eg 03/19/2011

These formulas return the 2-digit year:
H2: =MOD(YEAR(G2),100)
or
H2: =--TEXT(G2,"yy")

in the above examples, the formulas return: 11

Is that something you can work with?
