=(SUM(B20:D20))/SUM(B20:F20)

How do i get this formula to return zero if the fields are empty.

Thankyou

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Still get the DIV/0! using the formula you gave me

Perhaps

=IF(COUNT(B20:F20)=0,0,SUM(B20:D20)/SUM(B20:F20))
That formula should work.

If you still get a #DIV/0! error do you have both positive and negative numbers in the range B20:F20 that sum to 0?

If you're using Excel 2007 or later:

=IFERROR(SUM(B20:D20)/SUM(B20:F20),0)

OK, if you're using Excel 2003 then you can't use the IFERROR version.

Excel 2003 doesn't support that function.
