I have a password protected Word .doc

When I go to File/Open in Word, I wish to display a messagebox giving clues to the password to be entered.

I have tried AutoExec and AutoOpen in a macro, without success.

I would gratefully welcome any suggestions and sample VBA coe that will do this

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Hi, Joe,

It's not quite my speciallity, but it looks simple to me.
You cannot make the doc run anything unless you open it. So you cannot provide clues to the user before the password is entered .
You will need another approach.

kind regards,
Erik

Thanks erik. I am afraid that I have reached the same conclusion.

I hope 2008 is a good year for you.
